Hope: noun, a feeling of expectation and desire for a certain thing to happen (Oxford Languages)
Hope is not just wishful thinking or big dreams. Hope is expectation, trust, and faith in a particular conclusion. When we are faced with hardship, it can be easy to fall victim to the voices of doubt and fear. When you live every day with a dark cloud of worry, anxiety, or depression hanging over you, your thoughts will create your reality. You may feel lost at sea or overwhelmed by information and emotion and feel as if you were drowning.
But you don't have to navigate this alone. Dr. Marilyn offers a wide range of coaching and mindset training services that will allow you to get the unique support, guidance, and resources you need to weather the storm. Whether you're struggling with a life changing medical diagnosis, the ever-changing world we're living in, or just struggling to get up in the morning, know that there's hope and that we're here to help.
I have spent 10 years as an R.N., 40 years ( hard to believe) as a Primary Care Physician, and 3 years as a Medical Coach. Half a Century and I’m still passionate about Helping Others navigate this uncertain and always changing world of our’s.
All this time, especially during the last 25 years, I’ve battled one illness after another, taking lessons from each, and overcoming all those terrible obstacles! Now I’m a veritable mental Library of information on “ How To…..”.
The only reason I can think of, as to why I’ve had to fight these battles, is to use that information, painfully acquired by the scars of all those experiences, to continue my Life Mission of Helping Others.
By the way, Pain and I have become constant companions. We walk together, Pain and I, but I don’t let Pain define who I am. My husband sees all my scars, inside and out, and calls me a Warrior. Perhaps I can help you.
You may need coaching to help alter your current Mindset so that you experience the benefits of living intentionally. This is not an easy “ shift” to make, but once you have done so, you will never go back.
You may be an unfortunate person who has just recently been told they have a serious illness. It may become a chronic and progressively worsening illness. Or it may be what I call “The Big C” that can take your life. Even as I write these words, I am again
“shaken” by the thought when that happened to me. In my case, it occurred 5 years ago, but every time I have a CT, MRI, or physical exam by my oncologist, I feel like an axe is hanging over my head until I get the results. IT NEVER ENDS!
I never had an opportunity to be supported in my journey by a coach, or by a Medical Coach who could explain the often complicated journey I would be taking to me and my loved ones. Who could explain, if I had options, what they were. Who could have the time to get to really know me and my outlook on life, my mindset, to understand what choices I, as a person, might want to make, and help others understand those choices.
I would love to, virtually, hold your hand, as we go through my 3 month Healing With Hope program. Here's how it works:
Month 1: Determine who you are and your personality type, and explore how you move through the world and interact with others, especially loved ones. Learn my Mindfulness Training Program.
Month 2: Study your illness in whatever depth you want to learn. Discover what the “natural progression “, as we say in Medicine, of this disease is. Hear about your treatment options and what they would mean to your lifestyle. Immerse yourself in Knowledge about what you are up against.
Month 3: Action (this may occur sooner but will definitely continue through month 3. Implement the treatment plan. You are ready, understand, and have personally chosen the treatment that best aligns with who you are and who you will continue to be during and after your treatment.
I will accompany you on this most difficult journey of your life. I will be the advocate that everyone needs on these journeys.
As am MD, I will have access to your physicians as only another physician can have.
Conversations are Peer to Peer. We speak the same language. We have similar basic medical training, so don’t need to waste time with detailed explanations to each other. We have a common bond and Hippocratic Oath.
I would love to support you as you navigate these challenging waters.
